A note from Benjamin with Alive Studios...

Alive Studios initially met Beth and Jake at a wedding show held at
Lionscrest Manor, where they eventually choose to have the wedding.  From
the moment we met the couple, I knew working with them would be amazing.  We
choose an old abandon train yard for their engagement shoot, which turned
out to be perfect.  Beth's red hair  and the fall colors worked wonderfully,
and Jake seemed totally at home amongst the ancient trains.  It was during
this initial shoot that we started to see the magic love between Jake and
Beth.  One of two of the images made it directly to our portfolio.

Early spring storms threatened Beth's desire for an outdoor ceremony, and

Jake even volunteered to help Lionscrest Manor clear the snow if possible.  But

that wasn't necessary, as mother nature blessed the couple with a beautiful
weekend in-between two massive storms.  A sixty degree day with light winds
and beautiful sun allowed us to be outside for all of the photos, as well as
the ceremony.  Working at Lionscrest in the spring is such a delight, and as
you can see from the photos, Beth and Jake were feeling it for sure.  An
amazing ceremony with wonderful people supporting them, perfect weather, and
love everywhere!  Later, up on the bluff above the Manor, Beth and Jake
celebrated their first few moments of being married while capturing a number

of exquisite photos as the sun slid down behind the mountains.

Back inside for a totally rocking party, amazing food, and excellent music.

Alive Studios thoroughly enjoyed the details which Beth obviously though
about; from amazing color coordination and decorations to unique touches of
class.  A truly excellent wedding all around, and the beginning of a
wonderful life of marriage for Beth and Jake!

Tara and Stephen shared their love for each other this spring as they joined two hearts together as one. They managed to radiate their powerful devotion, so much so, that they challenged Mother Nature's grip and melted the snow and our hearts!

Sporting dapper argyle socks and rocking shades, Stephen and the guys were swagger ready.

Tara and Stephen's wedding party has invented a new modern version of the "Tunnel of Love."

In a palette of plum and charcoal grey the event brought in a modern sophistication while keeping a witty and fun edge.

With wide smiles and darling whit they charmed us all and let their personalities shine through in their amazing photos captured by the talented Susan Armitage of Armitage Photography.

A Note from Susan- It was great working with Tara and Stephen for their March 2nd wedding at Lionscrest Manor!  Tara and Stephen were married surrounded by a great group of family and friends.  Tara had some really fun photo ideas she shared with me that we were able to incorporate into their wedding day.  It's always fun to work with a couple that is open to creative photo ideas and they were the best!

Tara and Stephen were even kind enough to review us and a few of their choice vendors so that other couples can get a sense for their experience. To see their reviews on Wedding Wire click here.

Cheers to Tara and Stephen on their nuptial bliss! May each day, each week and each year you share together overflow with joy, wonder and above all L-O-V-E!

Honor Our Military
Let's honor our military,
The men and women who serve,
Whose dedication to our country
Does not falter, halt or swerve.
Let's respect them for their courage;
They're ready to do what's right
To keep America safe,
So we can sleep better at night.
Let's support and defend our soldiers,
Whose hardships are brutal and cruel,
Whose discipline we can't imagine,
Who follow each order and rule.
Here's to those who choose to be warriors
And their helpers good and true;
They're fighting for American values;
They're fighting for me and you.
By Joanna Fuchs

Jessica and Cameron were a great couple to work with. Their bright and fresh personalities shined through on their wedding day not only in spirit but in color! Tangerine, fuchsia, vibrant purple and crisp green apple tastefully weaved through out the event and evoke pure joy from the revelers.

Booking with us a year and a half in advance of their wedding day gave us a great opportunity to see their creative process and thoughts behind building their dream day firsthand. With the bold color palette they selected incorporated through the dresses, flowers, linens, and decor items (like up-lighting and chair sashes from Splash Decor), these special pieces added together to build a symphony of strength, passion and playfulness that really sums up their love for each other.

The couple also chose to incorporate their love for travel into the event through their place cards and table name markers. These items really added a personal stamp to the day that read like a road map of happy travels through their journey together as a couple. Each table presented guests with a snapshot into a special trip or moment in Jessica and Cameron's lives that can and will be carried forward in their life together as husband and wife.

The whimsy and cheer they evoked in their wedding day was no doubt soaked in by their friends and family. We too as vendors can even say that their reception brings a smile to our face when we look back.

A note on the Decor from Diane with Splash Decor...

It was really fun to be a part of Jessica and Cameron's wedding that incorporated such a bold, fun color palette in all areas of their event.  They used 18 up-lights illuminating the cocktail area, buffet room, upper and lower ballroom each in one of their four wedding colors (Orange, Purple, Pink and Lime Green).  They also used these four colors in the chair bows for the ceremony matching the Bridesmaids dresses.  Lighting was very important to this couple so in addition to the colored up-lights, they used cafe lighting in the ballroom, back patio and fountain areas thus creating a really fun atmosphere in all possible areas.

At the end of the night, friends and family left with memories and sweet goodies from the candy bar, and the couple exited with smiles on their faces and vibrant joy in their hearts. Wishes to Jessica and Cameron and their happily ever after!

On October 21st Bob and Leona (owners of Lionscrest Manor) celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. What an amazing 34 years it has been! I am sure that if you asked either of them on their wedding day what their prediction would be for 30+ years in the future they would have never guessed that they would own/operate a wedding and event center.

As an homage to the happy couple we decided to play the "what would your wedding be like now" game and re-load their 70's style into 2012. Here is our Mod 70's wedding board for Leona and Bob. I think that this look is both fresh and modern with a throw back nostalgia for true disco diehards. Here is our break down...

Food: We love the idea of comfort food and portability. After all when you are rockin it out in your platforms you don't have time to sit for a formal meal nor would that match your eclectic style. We are featuring Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Tomato Soup Shooters, French Fries a-Go-Go, Mini Hot Dogs, Short Stacks (pancakes) and Coffee and Donuts for that after midnight pick me up.

Attire: We choose this stunning lace-overlay gown from Cymbeline with killer high slit to show of those dancing shoes. For bridesmaids we loved playing on the original lemon and tangerine colors that Leona chose and went bold with this one shoulder dress from Dessy. For the men we wanted a clean 007 take on the brown tux from the 70's but modern that could take them from ceremony to dance floor while looking debonaire.

Decor and Floral: We choose chocolate brown for the base so we could build in amazing pops of bright yellows, oranges and white throughout the reception. To top it off, no 70's reload would be complete without a disco ball over the dance floor!

Whether you are planning your wedding for Fall, Spring or anything in between we think this new take on polyester and platforms is sure to appeal to the young and old. Congratulations to Leona and Bob, from your family, friends and staff we wish you both the best and may your next 30 years together be as bright as your first 30!
